Course Complementary skills and technology transfer, 6th June 2025
To be fully adaptable to the current requirements of the market, modern scientists need not only research expertise but also a wide variety of complementary skills and competences. The aim of this course will be to introduce such crucial topics like the basic principles of project writing and management, EU research funding landscape as well as intellectual property policies. The course can be suitable for MSc and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and even senior scientists. The organizers will be the team at the Centre of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology (CPSBB), Plovdiv. Bulgaria (https://cpsbb.eu/). The topics in this course include:
• The life cycle of a project and principles of project management;
• Instruments for research funding, with focus on Horizon Europe;
• Preparing a project proposal – structure, evaluation criteria, useful tips;
• Principles of intellectual property rights and their protection;
• Technology transfer and commercialization.
