Trial design and statistics
Field trials are among the most powerful tools for the evaluation of novel crop protection products and agricultural practices. However, they require substantial effort, time, and resources and thus have to be carefully planned and designed. BioAtlantis will provide training in the area of experimental design as it is applied to conducting field trials according to GEP (Good Experimental Practice) standards. This will include requirements for designing GEP trials to ensure sufficient statistical power and appropriate statistical methods. Topics that will throw light on different aspects of the organization, performance, and analyses of field trials include:
• Challenges and approaches to implementing statistically robust commercial field trials;
• Trial design and performance;
• Statistics and quality assurance.
