Attila Kuscera

Attila comes from Slovakia and studied plant biotechnology during his Bachelor and Masters
degrees at Mendel University in Brno. Later on, he continued to pursue a PhD degree at the
same university. During his PhD, he explored how plants react to stresses using omics tools.
As a CropPrime secondee, he spent more than half a year at the University of Johannesburg,
South Africa where he used metabolics tools to investigate the protective effect of seaweed-
based biostimulants on oat and arabidopsis. To accomplish this, Attila analyzed physiological
attributes of the plants while comparing the effects of the biostimulants on control plants and
the plants affected by biotic stress. He meticulously collected all the samples and prepared
them for metabolomic analysis. He also joined "2024 Annual MSA Symposium" on
University of South Africa where he had the opportunity to exchange knowledge as with
students, so the experts alike.
